A LITTLE HISTORY OF GENERAL TSO
Dating back to 1955 it is said General Tso was created by chef Peng Chang-kuei for a banquet welcoming the chairmain of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1955. The dish was created in honor of a Hunanese war hero Zuo Zongtang. Although he was not a particular enthusiast of poultry one could argue it is one of the most well known Chinese dishes.
